Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is hoping to use Coronation Street as a blueprint to aid the club's potential, according to reports in the Daily Mirror.

Rodgers visited the set of the popular British soap with daughter Mischa, after being invited by Sue Johnstone. However, the Reds boss is hopeful he can apply a similar model for long term success at Anfield.

"This is a programme that has been successful for 50-odd years," Rodgers told the Daily Mirror. "For me, I always take a bit away from it in terms of relating it to my own job.

"To see how something so successful is put together through effort and hard work. A few of the musical guys, on my walk around the set, blasted out Glory, Glory Man United. We'll see in May how good our own soap opera here is!"

Liverpool travel to Hull for their latest Premier League game on Sunday.
