Ozil and Gerrard on World XI shortlist

Mesut Ozil, Steven Gerrard and Yaya Toure are the Premier League representatives named on a 15-man shortlist as part of the process to decide the 2013 FIFA FIFPro World XI.

Gareth Bale, who sealed a world record £86 million move to Real Madrid following his exploits for Tottenham last season, is also included.

On Wednesday, a 20-man shortlist was revealed to make up the back four of the star XI, which will be announced on January 13, 2014, at FIFA's Ballon d'Or presentation in Zurich.

Those vying for the three midfield berths have now been unveiled. Bayern Munich's Franck Ribery is also among the contenders, with the France international also in the hunt for the Ballon d'Or prize following his performances during his club's treble-winning campaign.

Real Madrid's Isco, Borussia Dortmund's Marco Reus and Juventus' Arturo Vidal debut on the list, while Barcelona's Xavi is looking to make the XI for a sixth year in a row.
