Robin van Persie returns for Manchester United

Robin van Persie is back in the Manchester United starting line-up to face Newcastle at Old Trafford.

The Dutchman has not played since the 1-0 win over Arsenal and has missed the past four games for David Moyes, but the striker returns to the side and will start up front alongside Javier Hernandez.

United are missing Wayne Rooney as the England international is suspended having collected five yellow cards.

Manchester United: De Gea; Rafael, Evans, Vidic (c), Evra; Nani, Jones, Cleverley, Januzaj; Hernandez, Van Persie

Substitutes: Lindegaard, Ferdinand, Anderson, Valencia, Young, Zaha, Welbeck

Newcastle: Krul; Debuchy, Williamson, Coloccini (c), Santon; Cabaye, Tiote, Anita; Sissoko, Remy, Gouffran
