Former goalkeeper Stuart Tomlinson has revealed he has joined America's World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) franchise in hope of carving out a career as a wrestler.

Tomlinson, who retired from professional football in July after suffering a knee ligament injury, announced on Twitter he is swapping goal posts for ring posts.

The ex-Port Vale and Crewe keeper had previously worked as a male model, but has now signed a developmental contract with the entertainment company.
