Chelsea and Manchester United have joined the race to sign Brazilian starlet Mosquito, according to the Daily Mirror.

Real Madrid and Juventus are also reportedly monitoring the talented forward, who impressed at this year's FIFA Under-17 World Cup - in which Brazil won all three group games and the second round before falling to Mexico at the quarter-final stage following an epic penalty shootout which finished 11-10.

Clubs have to wait until Mosquito turns 18 next month before they can make any formal offers and that representatives of the Atletico Paranaense player are holding out for £4 million - though there are complications with an ongoing dispute with former club Vasco da Gama.

The Mirror reports that Chelsea are willing to meet the valuation after positive reports from the club's South American scouting network, and would likely send the player on-loan to Dutch club Vitesse Arnhem on loan for the 2014-15 season.
