City defender pledges to donate £20,000 to charity
Manchester City defender Micah Richards was feeling in a particularly generous mood on Wednesday, offering £20,000 out of his own pocket to charity.
Richards took to social networking site Twitter to thank fans for their continued support. However, he went one step further in his gratitudes by extending the offer to anyone who could convince him why their chosen charity would need the money.
He ended by stating he would give all of his followers - more than 100,000 - a further day to tweet him their reasoned responses.
Thanks for the support! For this great support id like to offer 20k of my own money to anyone who convinces me there charity needs it most.
