David Moyes is set to be handed a major injury boost as Michael Carrick could be available for Manchester United's Boxing Day clash against Hull.

Carrick has been sidelined since the victory over Arsenal at Old Trafford last month, after he had an operation on an Achilles problem. The 32-year-old was expected to be out of action until the New Year, but the Daily Mail claims that Carrick "has been doing ball work with United physios in recent days and could return to training next week".

There is a possibility that Carrick could play a part in United's Premier League fixture at Hull on December 26. If manager Moyes decides not to rush the midfielder back into action, then Carrick may feature in the game at Norwich two days later.
