Pulis keen for Zaha Palace return

Tony Pulis has confirmed that Crystal Palace would like to take Wilfried Zaha back to Selhurst Park on loan.

Zaha left for Manchester United in the summer after helping the Eagles win promotion in his final game for them, May's Championship play-off final against Watford.

But the £15million Zaha has only made four appearances for United, is yet to start a league game for them and will probably be allowed to go out on loan in January, manager David Moyes has said.

Newcastle are the favourites to sign Zaha but new Palace manager Pulis said he would be keen to borrow the 21-year-old, who scored 15 goals 143 games for the London club.

Pulis told PA Sport: "Obviously he was a tremendous player at this football club and United spent a lot of money on him. I'm sure Wilfried and David and Manchester United will decide what they want to do. We'd be interested, whether we could do it, but we'd be interested if the player was available.

"We're cutting across a line I really don't want to go past, you're talking about other players who are owned by other football clubs. That's disrespectful to United and especially David."

One complication for Palace is that they are only allowed to have two players on loan from other Premier League clubs and Pulis' squad includes Cameron Jerome, borrowed from his former employers Stoke, and Jason Puncheon, who is owned by Southampton.

Meanwhile Newcastle manager Alan Pardew confirmed he is monitoring Zaha's situation but remained coy on the question of if he would try to take the winger to St James' Park.

"Zaha is a player I know very well from his time at Palace," Pardew said. "He made the big move to Man United and his career has maybe stalled a little bit.

"That's something players have to go through, but I know he's doing well in the background and maybe he will get an opportunity there."
