Newcastle midfielder Yohan Cabaye has revealed their yellow kit is the reason why the club have been so successful on the road.

On Saturday, with a 3-0 win against Crystal Palace, the Magpies continued their 100% record in the brightly coloured third kit shirts - which have been compared to that of five-time World Cup winners Brazil by some Toon fans.

With a record that has seen Newcastle pick up wins at Tottenham and Manchester United, and now Palace, the Frenchman believes it is a lucky omen that needs to continue.

He told the Chronicle: "We love playing in this yellow kit. We have worn it three times now and won three times. It may be the third kit but we like it and maybe we should always wear this kit away from home!"

Cabaye was also pleased to see a good team effort at Selhurst Park and added: "We knew this place would be hard, with a small pitch and a good atmosphere, but we had a good mentality.

"To win, score three goals and keep a clean sheet was perfect before two home games. It helps us stay high in the league, where we want to be."
