Van Gaal, Queiroz linked with Tottenham post

Netherlands head coach Louis van Gaal has told NOS he would be interested in managing in the Premier League amid reports he and Carlos Queiroz are targets of Tottenham Hotspur.

Tottenham are searching for a new boss after they parted company with Andre Villas-Boas last week, with Tim Sherwood, who oversaw Sunday's 3-2 win at Southampton, currently in temporary charge.

Sherwood has indicated he would be interested in take up the role permanently but that has not stopped other names being linked with the post, including Van Gaal.

The Dutchman will be unattached in the summer after the 2014 World Cup when he leaves his current job in charge of Netherlands and the former Bayern Munich boss has intimated he could be tempted to manage in England.

Van Gaal is quoted by the Guardian as telling told NOS: "I'll never comment on offers.

"I've always said I want to work in the Premier League eventually, so there's a chance. There are times a deal is announced and there are times it's in preparation. At that time there's no time for media. But everyone who knows me knows I won't do a job share."

Meanwhile, former Manchester United assistant Queiroz, who is now head coach of Iran, has suggested he is interested in replacing his Portuguese compatriot Villa-Boas.

The Daily Star Sunday quote him as saying: "Tottenham is a club I really appreciate a lot and I have great admiration for. One of my coaching dreams is to get back to English football."
