Yohan Cabaye will not be leaving Newcastle during the January transfer window, as the midfielder and his agent have a "gentleman's agreement" in place that he will stay at least until the summer.

The Chronicle reports that Newcastle will turn down any offers for Cabaye in January, with the midfielder, his agent and the club agreeing that he would see out the campaign until the summer, which would be the time for him to move on.

Arsenal had a bid turned down during the summer, and the Daily Mail reported that they would have to make an offer of around £22 million to sign the French international.

But with this "agreement" in place between Cabaye, his agent and Newcastle, a bid from Arsenal and other clubs is likely to be accepted in the summer of 2014.
