Ozil set to miss cup clash with Spurs
Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Mesut Ozil will miss "two-to-three games" with a shoulder injury after he was ruled out of Arsenal's clash with Newcastle on Sunday.
Ozil has started every Premier League game since his £42.5 million move to Arsenal from Real Madrid this summer. However his run was interrupted with his omission at St James' Park after damaging his shoulder in Arsenal's 3-1 win at West Ham on Boxing Day.
Wenger told Sky Sports: "I would have loved him here [at Newcastle] but he had a shoulder problem, he fell on his shoulder. He will be out for two-to-three games."
Arsenal are set to be without Ozil's services when Cardiff come to the Emirates on New Year's Day and for their FA Cup third round tie with Tottenham. Ozil could return against Aston Villa on January 13.
