Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has agreed to become the new Cardiff City manager, according to reports in Norway.

Molde manager Solskjaer has been strongly linked with the position since the departure of Malky Mackay, although Cardiff chairman Mehmet Dalman refused to confirm his interest in the former Manchester United striker when questioned on the matter on Saturday.

TV 2 now reports that Molde have accepted that Solskjaer, who has six months remaining on his contract with the Norwegian club, will leave and that the 40-year-old is set to be presented as Cardiff's new manager before Saturday's FA Cup meeting with Newcastle.

The BBC also expects Solskjaer to be confirmed as the new Cardiff manager after he flew to England for talks on New Year's Day. However, both the BBC and the Press Association believe a deal has yet to be concluded.
