Several reports suggested on Thursday that the Gunners could make a £2 million move for the Fulham striker, who continues to be linked with a transfer away from Craven Cottage.

However, speaking at his press conference ahead of the North London derby clash in the FA Cup third round with Tottenham on Saturday, Wenger revealed that Berbatov is not a player they will be making a move for at this current time.

"Berbatov is a not a name we have considered at the moment," Wenger told reporters.

Meanwhile, Wenger says that Olivier Giroud is 90% out, while Mesut Ozil will have a fitness test today to determine whether he will be involved in the Spurs game.

"We have lost Nicklas Bendtner, Giroud's ankle was quite positive but he is sick," Wenger said. "Kieran Gibbs and Aaron Ramsey remain out."

And on the matches with Tottenham, Wenger said: "Our rivalry with Tottenham hasn't changed, it's always a fight to get in front of them. The FA Cup has a special meaning for everyone, it is a big competition and everyone wants to win it."
