Southampton defender Luke Shaw has told the club he does not want to leave during the January transfer window, according to reports in the British press.

Chelsea and Manchester United have long been touted with a potential move for the 18-year-old left back, with both looking at Shaw as a long-term replacement for Ashley Cole and Patrice Evra respectively.

However, the Daily Mail reports that Southampton executive chairman Nicola Cortese will reject all offers for the £20million-rated defender.

Shaw has enjoyed an impressive two seasons at St Mary's since making his debut for the club in an FA cup tie against Millwall in January 2012.
