Wenger is facing midfield issues ahead of his side's tie at the Emirates stadium, with Mesut Ozil unlikely to be risked as he continues to recover from a shoulder injury.
According to the Telegraph, Aaron Ramsey has already been ruled out with a thigh injury while Jack Wilshere could be rested after playing two games in quick succession.
Zelalem, who turns 17 on January 26 and is yet to pen a professional contract with the club, has already been included on the bench this season for Premier League games against Tottenham and Fulham.
He returned from a two-month injury lay-off in November before playing a convincing role during an Arsenal under-21's match with Manchester United in December.
