Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has revealed that Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain could play a part in the Gunners' trip to Aston Villa on the weekend.

Oxlade-Chamberlain has been out of action since the opening day of the season after suffering a knee injury in the 3-1 loss to Villa at the Emirates.

And he returned to action for Arsenal's Under-21 side on Thursday night, playing 45 minutes against Fulham.

With Theo Walcott set to miss the rest of the season after injuring his knee against Tottenham last weekend in the FA Cup, the return of Oxlade-Chamberlain after five months out is a timely boost for Wenger.

And at his Friday press conference, Wenger said he would have no problems in bringing Oxlade-Chamberlain back into the side for the league-leaders clash against Villa.

"I wouldn't have any hesitation on playing Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain against Aston Villa," Wenger told reporters.
