Hull have agreed a fee with Everton for the transfer of Nikica Jelavic, the Premier League clubs have announced on their Twitter accounts.

Jelavic, 28, leaves Everton having scored a double - and missed a penalty - in the club's 4-0 FA Cup third round thrashing of Queens Park Rangers.

The striker, who is in search of first team football as he bids to secure a place in Croatia's World Cup squad, had been strongly linked with a move to Championship promotion hopefuls QPR but will remain in the Premier League at the KC Stadium.

Jelavic joined Everton from Scottish club Rangers in January 2012 and scored nine goals in only 10 starts over the remainder of that campaign. But he suffered a dramatic loss of form and has scored only one Premier League goal since December 2012.

The player has been given permission to hold talks with Steve Bruce's side in East Yorkshire over the coming days ahead of a proposed move.
