ESPN FC: The team discuss Spurs' improvements in recent weeks

Nacer Chadli's agent has confirmed that his client is eager to leave Tottenham, a little over four months after he sealed a lucrative move from FC Twente.

Chadli has struggled to make an impact at Tottenham as injuries and unconvincing performances have seen him reduced to a bit-part role in the teams selected by Andre Villas-Boas and his successor Tim Sherwood.

Now Chadli's adviser Daniel Evrard has told the Evening Standard that his client is keen to find a route out of Tottenham in this transfer window, as he looks to safeguard his position in the Belgium squad for next summer's World Cup finals.

"His situation is not easy at Tottenham at the moment. The World Cup is arriving so it's a problem," Evrard told the newspaper.

"For him to play at the World Cup it's important, so why not a loan [from Tottenham]? We haven't spoken to Tottenham yet, but I know there are clubs interested in him.

"There are a lot of players in the same situation who are not in the team and they want to play in the World Cup so there is a market for a lot of clubs. It's important for him not to take any risks by going to a country he doesn't know well."

A hamstring injury shortly after his arrival at Spurs hampered his initial progress, but he has started just one game since Sherwood took charge and it seems that his patience is already running thin.

"Nacer had to play in a role which doesn't suit him," added his agent.

"They wanted him to play on the left wing and he is not exactly a winger, but he prefers to play through the middle.

"It's very difficult for him because we have not seen the best of him at Tottenham. He has big potential so he is a little bit frustrated."

Chadli is the latest of Tottenham's summer signings to be linked with a move away from the club this month, with £30 million record signing Erik Lamela and £9 million midfielder Etienne Capoue also reported to be keen to leave Spurs.
