Fulham have insisted to the Independent that reported Arsenal target Dimitar Berbatov is not set to leave the club.

Berbatov, 32, has been linked with a move away from Fulham after his agent, Emil Dantchev, told Press Association Sport that he is "not happy" at Craven Cottage.

Arsenal, who are short on options up front, have been mooted as interested in Berbatov, although their manager Arsene Wenger said he is "not a name that we have considered at the moment."

Asked about the speculation, Fulham boss Rene Meulensteen, who has been reluctant to discuss deals since voicing his interest in West Ham's Ravel Morrison, said: "No. There is no problem at all, he is a Fulham player."

The Independent also reports that "a Fulham spokesman said there had been no contact."

Berbatov signed for Fulham from Manchester United in 2012 and has since scored 19 Premier League goals for the club.
