Patrick Herrmann and Max Kruse have rejected rumours of a January transfer to Manchester United following reports linking the Borussia Moenchengladbach duo with a switch to Old Trafford.

When Moenchengladbach open the second part of the Bundesliga season with their home game against Bayern Munich this Friday, United boss David Moyes is expected to be in attendance.

Moyes' trip to Germany has led to a number of new transfer rumours, as United hope to reinforce their squad to secure another year of Champions League football at Old Trafford.

On Tuesday, the Telegraph linked Gladbach's attacking duo Herrmann and Kruse with a switch to the Premier League. However, both players have since rejected rumours of an imminent departure from the Foals.

"Manchester? I don't think that'll be an issue any time soon," Germany international Max Kruse, 25, told Bild.

Kruse joined third-placed Gladbach from SC Freiburg ahead of the current season, and has become a key player for the Foals as they climbed to third spot in the Bundesliga after the first half of the season. His teammate Herrmann has also been linked with United.

The 22-year old has already clocked up 113 Bundesliga games for Gladbach after making his Bundesliga debut as an 18-year old in January 2010.

This season the winger returned to form following a mediocre 2012-13 campaign. He has featured in all 17 league games, struck three goals and added a further five assists.

"It, of course, honours me to be linked to such a club," Herrmann told Rheinische Post on Tuesday.

"But a winter transfer is absolutely no issue for me. I feel fine here at Borussia, we are playing an outstanding season."

The winger, however, did not rule out a future move away from the Bundesliga.

"You should never say never," he said. "But the Bundesliga is one of the strongest leagues in the world."

Gladbach sporting director Max Eberl also told Bild the club 'don't plan to sell anyone'.
