Roma striker Marco Borriello is on his way to London to meet West Ham representatives as the Hammers close in on a double Serie A swoop.

In addition to Borriello, West Ham have completed a loan move for AC Milan midfielder Antonio Nocerino.

Borriello, meanwhile, has been linked with Genoa as part of a triangular deal which, like the one involving Bologna, Juventus and Genoa that broke down in the summer, looks unlikely to come to fruition.

Bologna's sale of Alessandro Diamanti to Chinese side Guangzhou would permit them to sign Alberto Gilardino from Genoa, allowing Borriello to return to his former club in Liguria.

However, Diamanti appears increasingly unlikely to join former Italy coach Marcello Lippi in China - making Borriello more likely to move to the Premier League.

Borriello may join the Hammers on loan until the end of the season, when his contract with the Giallorossi is due to expire, leaving him free to decide his future in the summer.

Meanwhile, Leeds United confirmed on Friday they had rejected an offer from West Ham for striker Ross McCormack.

The Championship club confirmed on their website they had rebuffed the bid, which was reported in the British press to be around £4 million.
