Mata, Van Persie start for United, Rooney on bench

Juan Mata will start for Manchester United against Cardiff just three days after making his club record £37.1 million move from Chelsea.

Manager David Moyes has also been handed a huge boost by the return of Robin van Persie to the starting line-up, while Wayne Rooney returns to the bench.

Veteran midfielder Ryan Giggs is also in the starting line-up in what is his 800th start for United, while Ashley Young replaces Adnan Januzaj on the left.
