Indian businessman Saurin Shah has confirmed he is keen on buying Blackburn Rovers.

Rovers have been left behind by the big clubs since their glory years of the 1990s and have been seeking new investment in a bid to push the club forward.

Shah, who owns the Qubic Sports and Entertainment group, has made a £25 million offer for the club and hopes to complete a deal by the end of July.

"We're serious," he said. "We're in negotiations. We've acquired the right of due diligence. We have the right of first refusal.

"There are many Indian and Pakistani people in Lancashire, so the interest is natural."
