Juventus have completed the loan signing of striker Dani Osvaldo from Southampton.

Osvaldo, 28, joined Southampton from Roma for £15 million last summer but has managed just three goals in 13 Premier League appearances.

The Italy international's future with the Saints has been in doubt since he was banned for two weeks following a bust-up with team-mate Jose Fonte.

He has now sealed a temporary move to Juventus until the end of the season, with the Serie A champions holding an option to make the deal permanent in the summer for £15m, payable over three years, according to an announcement on the Italian club's official website.

Osvaldo, who has previously played for Atalanta, Lecce, Fiorentina, Bologna and Roma, could make his Juve debut in their Derby d'Italia clash with Inter Milan on Sunday night.

He becomes the sixth striker on the books of the Serie A leaders, although 11-goal Fernando Llorente does not fear the added competition for places.

Osvaldo scored 28 goals in 57 games for Roma having netted 21 times in 46 appearances for his previous club Espanyol.

Despite his fiery character which saw him fall out of favour at Roma, and more recently with Southampton, Osvaldo remains in the running for a place in Cesare Prandelli's Italy squad for the World Cup, and his return to Serie A could boost his chances of boarding a plane to Brazil in June.
