Newcastle United and Norwich City have been charged for failing to control their players in the closing stages of the 0-0 draw between the sides at Carrow Road on January 28.

The incident occurred when Loic Remy scuffled with Bradley Johnson in the 82nd minute, with the Frenchman appearing to lower his head towards the Norwich midfielder.

Referee Chris Foy showed red cards to both players, which led to a three-match ban for Remy - though Johnson won his appeal and escaped any punishment.

The FA has charged the clubs for failing to ensure their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion and/or refrained from provocative behaviour.

The clubs have until 6pm on February 5 to respond to the charge.
