Negredo in for Aguero as Mourinho opts for defensive Chelsea

Manchester City have made three changes to the side which thumped Tottenham ahead of their clash against Chelsea, while Jose Mourinho has opted for a defensive line-up at the Etihad.

With Sergio Aguero out for a month with a hamstring injury, Alvaro Negredo comes in to replace him, with Aleksandar Kolarov taking Gael Clichy's place in the team that defeated Spurs 5-1 in midweek. Fernandinho misses out with a muscle strain, manager Manuel Pellegrini confirmed in his pre-match interview.

Chelsea meanwhile have left out Oscar, with Mourinho choosing to play a more defensive team against City, as David Luiz and Nemanja Matic both start in midfield.

Manchester City starting XI: Hart, Zabaleta, Kompany (c), Nastasic, Kolarov, Navas, Demichelis, Toure, Silva, Dzeko, Negredo.

Substitutes: Pantilimon, Boyata, Clichy, Milner, Rodwell, Lopes, Jovetic.

Chelsea starting XI:Cech; Ivanovic, Cahill, Terry (c), Azpilicueta; Luiz, Matic; Ramires, Willian, Hazard; Eto'o.

Substitutes: Schwarzer, Cole, Mikel, Lampard, Oscar, Salah, Ba
