Where did it go wrong for Arsenal?

Santi Cazorla claims that Arsenal team-mate Olivier Giroud is as good as Luis Suarez, Sergio Aguero and Wayne Rooney.

Giroud is a long way behind Suarez in terms of goals this season, having scored only 10 goals in the Premier League compared to the Liverpool player's 23.

He also trails Aguero, Daniel Sturridge, Eden Hazard, Yaya Toure and Loic Remy, but the France striker has been key to Arsenal's title challenge and a focal point for Arsene Wenger's side.

"He's playing at a great level and improves year on year," Cazorla told French media outlet RMC. "He's at the same level as the other forwards in the league.

"He's strong and can keep the ball. In the penalty box, he's effective, whether that be with both feet or his head. He's a bit different to what you usually see in England, but he brings us a lot.

"He's a great striker, and we've seen that since the start of the season. He's also doing great things with the French national team."

Cazorla, who signed for Arsenal in the summer of 2012 along with Giroud, insists that despite having to wait to win major silverware at the club he has no regrets at missing out on chances to sign for Barcelona and Real Madrid.

He said: "Those two clubs are monuments of Spanish football. They make all players dream. I had contact with Madrid a few years ago, but it didn't come off.

"Several times, destiny has meant that I haven't been able to join one of those two clubs. But my career has just happened like that, and I don't regret anything."
