Sagna to be offered three-year, £100,000-a-week deal
Arsenal are ready to give in to Bacary Sagna's demands for a three-year, £100,000-a-week contract demands - but Arsene Wenger remains unsure if the French defender will sign.
Sagna's current deal runs out at the end of the season and it is understood that his preference is to leave.
Sources have told ESPN that the right-back - who turned 31 on Friday - initially wanted a six-figure salary tying him to the club until 2017, but Arsenal were reluctant to agree such a deal given their reluctance to give players older than 30 long-term contracts.
But the likes of Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City rumoured to be interested, it is believed that the Emirates club are now more willing to cede to Sagna's demands, though negotiations are proving difficult.
"No, he is not close [to signing]," Wenger said. "It is an ongoing process."
Inter Milan, who are hoping to be Nemanja Vidic's choice of club when the Serbian leaves Manchester United at the end of the season, are also among Sagna's admirers.
