Henry hints at London return

Thierry Henry has said he has no plans for retirement as he prepares for the 2014 MLS season with New York Red Bulls, but indicated he may return to London once his contract with the club has expired.

Henry, who helped his team claim the Supporters' Shield for registering the best regular-season record in 2013, sees his current deal with the club run out in December.

Red Bulls technical director Gerard Houllier hinted back in November that the upcoming season could be Henry's last, but the striker told El Mundo Deportivo he will at least enjoy the coming MLS campaign, which kicks off next month, before considering his future.

"I've got a year left on my contract and I still feel good," Henry said. "So I'm going to enjoy it and we'll see come the end of the year.

"You know yourself when it's the moment to go. When I get that feeling, I'll stop, but that's not yet the case. But when I do retire, I think I will stay connected to football in some way."

Henry added that he has enjoyed life in New York, where he moved in 2010, but is set on a return to London, where he continues to be revered by Arsenal fans.

"I feel good in New York, but my life is in London," Henry said. "I have my daughter there, my house. I think my future is in that city."
