Giroud keen to rectify off-field issues
Olivier Giroud moved to clarify his off-field problems on the eve of Arsenal's Champions League clash with Bayern Munich in the last 16 on Wednesday,
The French striker posted a message on Twitter indicating his desire to move on from the bad publicity he has suffered by insisting he has not committed adultery.
Ultimate precision with respect to my apologies...Yes I made a mistake but not I have not committed adultery! Things are clear...— Olivier Giroud (@_OlivierGiroud_) February 18, 2014
On Sunday, Giroud took to the social networking site to issue a public apology following allegations that glamour model Celia Kay spent the night in the Arsenal striker's hotel room on the eve of a Premier League fixture.
The striker tweeted his apology an hour before Arsenal's FA Cup victory over Liverpool, in which he did not start but came on as a late substitute, and has clarified it a day before another big match for Arsene Wenger's side.
Giroud admitted he had "made a mistake" but was adamant he would rectify the situation. He could yet be disciplined by the club - Wenger said it would be dealt with internally in order to respect Giroud's privacy - but is expected to return to the starting line-up against Bayern.
