Allardyce: I won't be drawn in to Morrison saga
Sam Allardyce has refused to be drawn in to commenting on Ravel Morrison's situation at West Ham, but believes the attacker has not played his last game for the club.
Morrison was loaned out to Championship side Queens Park Rangers on an emergency 93-day deal on Wednesday after failing to hold down a regular first-team place at Upton Park.
He had not featured for West Ham since their 3-0 League Cup semi-final home loss to Manchester City on January 21, while the club also denied reports that Morrison was on strike.
Speaking ahead of West Ham's Premier League fixture with Southampton on Saturday, Allardyce wanted to concentrate on the task ahead rather than further explain why Morrison was loaned out.
"I'm not answering questions on Ravel Morrison right now because he's not with us - he is on loan at QPR," Allardyce said. "We have done a deal with QPR and are playing football against Southampton on Saturday.
"My focus is the squad of players I've got here and the fact of the matter is Ravel wanted to play some first-team football. He wasn't getting it as much here as he wanted, so we have let him go on loan to QPR.
"Our consistent performances with our new acquisitions like Antonio Nocerino, Marco Borriello, Roger Johnson and Pablo Armero have given us a bigger squad and Ravel found it a little bit more difficult to get in.
"So we move on to Southampton, with the players we have got at the club and the focus will be on continuing our fantastic form."
However, when asked about whether he thought Morrison had played his last game for the club, Allardyce stated: "No."
