Arsene Wenger delighted with Arsenal performance

Gus Poyet has reiterated his anger over Sunderland's debilitating 4-1 Premier League loss to Arsenal on Saturday by suggesting none of his players have put their "name on the teamsheet" for the League Cup final.

Sunderland face Manchester City at Wembley on March 2, but Poyet warned his side will be "embarrassed" if they produce a similar performance against Manuel Pellegrini's team.

Olivier Giroud scored a double before Tomas Rosicky finished off a fine move - a contender for goal of the season - to make it three. Laurent Koscielny wrapped up the points and Emanuele Giaccherini's strike proved a late consolation.

However, Poyet was not impressed with the team performance and admitted he now has to start from scratch before the League Cup final.

"If we play like this against Manchester City we could be embarrassed," Poyet said. "Now no-one has put themselves on the teamsheet for next week.

"They all had a great chance to show me, but everything I had in mind went in 90 minutes. Now I have to start from zero.

"Arsenal proved again that they can beat anyone, but sometimes players pick the team for you. Now I have a few options for Wembley.

"There are plenty of similarities between the way Arsenal and Manchester City play for me to ponder on."
