Swansea caretaker-manager Garry Monk is adamant that they will not sell Spain international Michu to Anzhi Makhachkala.

The forward has been linked with the Russian club and, with the transfer window still open there, would be able to move straight away.

But Monk said Swansea have received no bids for Michu, who has missed the last 15 games with a knee injury, and would not welcome one.

He said after Swansea's 4-3 loss to Liverpool: "There have been no offers, it is just speculation. He is part of our plans and part of what we want going forward. There is no one more eager to get back on the pitch and the training field than him."

Swansea sold Joe Allen to Liverpool for £15 million in 2012 and have raised money in the transfer market before but Monk insists they will not cash in on Michu, who scored 22 times last season.

"Michu is the type of player that is going to attract interest. He needs to get fit. As a club, your best players are linked [with moves away], we have had it for several years, we are not a selling club, but the players that have been sold in the past have been at the right price," he said.
