Tottenham defender Jan Vertonghen has hinted he may need to review his future at the club should they fail to qualify for next season's Champions League.

Vertonghen, 26, joined Spurs from Ajax in 2012 in a £9.6 million deal, and has his heart set on playing in Europe's elite club competition next term.

However, Tottenham face an uphill task to qualify following their 1-0 defeat to Norwich on Sunday, with Tim Sherwood's side now six points adrift of fourth-placed Liverpool.

"Those are always difficult questions," Vertonghen told the London Evening Standard, when asked about his Tottenham future. "What I want is to be playing in the Champions League with Tottenham, so I hope we get in this year.

"Do I have a decision to make if we don't? I can't say anything about that. Let's see after the end of the season, after the World Cup."
