Adviser claims Ozil's in the clear
Mesut Ozil is said to have "received positive signals" from the Metropolitan Police that "he need not worry" about an incident with a photographer.
Arsenal midfielder Ozil was thought to have been questioned over allegations the car he was driving was involved in a collision in North London last Friday night.
But his advisor Roland Eitel said: "When Mesut got home with a friend on Friday evening, several photographers were waiting at his front door."
"Mesut drove up the driveway, and he was chased by a photographer, who was hitting his car and destroyed his wing mirror," Eitel told Sport1.
Ozil was given time off last weekend after the criticism that was building about his performances peaked as a result of his penalty miss and poor performance against Bayern Munich in the Champions League.
Arsenal's club-record £42 million signing has seen his star fall at the Emirates Stadium since making a very impressive start to his Premier League career.
Manager Arsene Wenger admitted Ozil was badly affected by his penalty miss last week and appears to have shielded him from the potential for more mishaps by leaving him out of the squad for the game against Sunderland on Saturday, which they won 4-1.
