Chelsea have announced a new partnership with American animated sitcom The Simpsons.

The deal, in collaboration with Twentieth Century Fox Consumer Products, will see a new collection of Chelsea-branded merchandise featuring Springfield father and son, Homer and Bart Simpson.

"We are very pleased to announce such an exciting partnership," Chelsea chief executive Ron Gourlay told the club's official website. "The Simpsons is a hugely popular show and I hope Chelsea fans will enjoy seeing its main characters in our colours."

To mark the occasion, Chelsea stars Petr Cech, Eden Hazard, Frank Lampard, John Terry and Fernando Torres have been 'Simpson-ised,' though surprisingly not Chelsea's Sideshow Bob lookalike David Luiz.

"It's great to see myself and the other players as Simpsons characters," Chelsea captain Terry said. "The Simpsons was and still is my favourite show, and is now my kids' too. I can't wait to see what Bart and Homer will look like as Chelsea players."

Chelsea become the first English side to strike a partnership with the 28-time Emmy-winning TV show after similar deals with Barcelona, Juventus, Zenit St Petersburg, Corinthians, Porto and Boca Juniors.

West Ham had been the first Premier League club to feature in The Simpsons when the club's name and crest was referenced in the show's 24th season.
