RVP looking for an exit?

Robin van Persie has reportedly said sorry to his Manchester United team-mates, insisting his comments about them crowding him out and limiting his goalscoring opportunities were actually about his own game.

The Mirror claims Van Persie pulled aside colleagues at training to apologise for his remarks and was surprised they had been interpreted as a self-centred moan.

The Dutch striker, after United's embarrassing 2-0 Champions League defeat at Olympiakos, had said: "Our fellow players are sometimes occupying the spaces I want to play in. And when I see that it makes it difficult for me to come to those spaces as well.

"That forces me to adjust my runs, based on the position of my fellow players. Unfortunately, they're often playing in my zones. I think that's a shame."

Van Persie also branded United "lousy" but his comments about the way the team's tactics are said to have interested manager David Moyes.

They also appeared to provoke a reaction from team-mate Javier Hernandez, although he later claimed his initial comment had not been directed at Van Persie.
