The unveiling of Arsene Wenger's new contract at Arsenal is set to be delayed, according to a report from The Sun.

It is believed the club wanted to announce the new deal during Wenger's 1,000th match in charge of the Gunners later in March.

But The Sun reports that the club are becoming increasingly concerned as Wenger has not yet signed the contract, which is set to be a new three-year deal of £160,000-a-week.

Chief executive Ivan Gazidis said the Frenchman would be "extending" with Arsenal, adding they will wait for the "right time" to announce the deal.

But there is speculation that Wenger could still decide to leave the club and bring an end to his 18-year stint in North London.
