Toure hails 'important' return of Aguero

Yaya Toure believes Sergio Aguero's return to fitness could give Manchester City a vital boost in their bid to win the League Cup against Sunderland on Sunday.

Manuel Pellegrini's men have scored just three goals in their last five games as they prepare to face Gus Poyet's Black Cats at Wembley, but top scorer Aguero is back in the squad for the first time since suffering a hamstring injury in January.

And Toure - who has scored 16 goals from midfield this season - believes that Aguero can add to his tally of 26 strikes and fire City to victory.

"It's very important," Toure said. "We missed him for a month and Fernandinho [who was out for three games in February]. Now all the players are fit and want to play. That's great news. The final is always close."

City return to Wembley for the first time since last season's FA Cup final defeat to Wigan, and Toure is keen to ensure they avoid making the same mistakes.

"We did a lot of things in the past and we don't want to produce that again," he continued. "Every game there's a different story. We missed a couple of chances against Wigan. For me it is most important that we are ready for Sunday.

"We all come here to make history with this club and I think if we have a lot of trophies in the end it will be fantastic because that is our target."
