Ramsey to be handed £100,000-a-week deal
Arsenal are ready to make Aaron Ramsey the second highest paid player at the club, according to reports.
Ramsey is set be handed a five-year, £100,000-a-week contract having become the focal point of Arsene Wenger's midfield. Only £42 million record signing Mesut Ozil is paid more.
The deal would see the Wales international, who has not played since Boxing Day due to a thigh injury, double his current salary.
Midfielder Santi Cazorla is also expected to be offered a new deal. The Spaniard, a £15m signing from Malaga in 2012, is said to be in line for a wage increase to £80,000 a week.
Arsenal have already been boosted this week by centre-back Per Mertesacker and midfielder Tomas Rosicky signing new deals.
But Wenger, according to the Daily Telegraph, is resigned to losing Bacary Sagna after the defender stalled on agreeing a new contract, with the player himself believed to have told team-mates he will be leaving.
Sagna is out of contract at the end of the season and is yet to agree a new deal, despite a number of offers. Inter Milan are reportedly preparing to make the Frenchman an offer in the summer.
