Hull owner has 'nothing left to give'

Hull City owner Ehab Allam has used a full-page local newspaper advert to claim he "has nothing left to give" in a bid to explain why he wants to rebrand the club.

He wants to rename the club Hull City Tigers and in the letter (below) published by the Hull Daily Mail, insisted "now is the right time to reassure our fans of the reason of the application".

After spending £74 million on the club, he claimed the proposed name change would help give the club "an edge" on their Premier League rivals when it came to commercial deals.

Allam also urged the club's supporters to "trust us to deliver once again" in their quest to establish Hull as a Premier League club with aspirations of playing in European competitions.

An FA Council meeting will take place in April, after which they will either ratify or reject the name change for the 2014-15 campaign.
