Wenger told to show more class

Arjen Robben says Arsene Wenger has let himself down with his latest attack on the Bayern Munich forward's conduct.

The Arsenal manager was furious after his team's Champions League last-16 exit to Robben's side and branded him a "good diver."

But Robben suggested Wenger, who made the same complaint after the first leg, was a bad loser who ought to show more class.

"I always say if you are a big manager then take your loss," the former Chelsea player said. "If you win be happy, enjoy, but if you lose don't complain about silly things.

"It was two penalties but I don't want to defend myself. From a big manager you expect a little bit more."

Robben won the penalty in the first leg which resulted in goalkeeper Wojciech Szczęsny being sent off and went down dramatically in the box under a challenge from Santi Cazorla during Tuesday's 1-1 draw at the Allianz Arena.

Referee Svein Oddvar Moen refused to give Robben the decision and ordered him to get up but Wenger believes he should have shown him a yellow card instead.

"Robben is very good at getting the maximum of nothing. He's a great player and as well a very good diver but it's part of him," Wenger, who insisted the first-leg sending off was the turning point in the tie, said.

"He is a fantastic player, I would not deny that. He is one of the best players in the world. But he doesn't need this.

"He gets in front of a player and then he slows down, he goes down. He gets the free kicks. If he gives him a yellow card on the first one when he goes down, he will not do it again."

Robben was in the spotlight again during added time, this time going down under the challenge of Laurent Koscielny and was awarded a penalty. However, Lukasz Fabianski saved Thomas Muller's kick.
