Torquay's Labadie banned for 10 games
Torquay United midfielder Joss Labadie has been banned for 10 matches and fined by the FA following allegations that he was involved in a Luis Suarez-style biting incident during a game.
Labadie, who scored the winning goal for the League 2's bottom club against Rochdale on Tuesday night, was involved in an alleged biting incident involving Chesterfield's Ollie Banks in their meeting on February 15.
The FA said in a statement released on Wednesday that Labadie was found to be guilty of the charge at a hearing of an independent panel. Labadie had denied the charge.
"Torquay United can confirm we have received notification of the verdict from the FA on Joss Labadie's misconduct charge," the club said in a statement, adding that they "will now consider our options before deciding whether to appeal."
Chesterfield declined to comment at the time of the incident, but Banks made the allegations via his Twitter account after the match.
On another note, I can't believe another human has taken a chunk out of my ribs in a football game! Disgusting! pic.twitter.com/D8GHtRGoTu— Ollie Banks (@obanks_14) February 15, 2014
Liverpool striker Luis Suarez was banned by the FA for 10 matches in April last year for biting Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic during a Premier League game.
