Rangers wrapped up the Scottish League One title with eight games to spare as Lee McCulloch's first half hat-trick earned a 3-0 win over Airdrie at Ibrox.

The visitors' goalkeeper Grant Adam conceded a penalty after just 100 seconds, which McCulloch calmly tucked away. And he was on hand to score from the spot again on 21 minutes when Gregor Buchanan tripped David Templeton.

McCulloch's third came with a low drive just before the interval.

The result sees the Glasgow giants move on to 80 points after 28 games - 26 clear of Dunfermline in second.

Rangers have secured back-to-back promotions after being demoted to the fourth tier for financial irregularities.
