Newcastle United midfielder Dan Gosling has been fined and warned about his future conduct by the FA for breaching betting rules.

Gosling was hit with a £30,000 fine after a personal hearing in front of an independent regulatory commission.

Gosling has featured in just three Premier League matches for Newcastle this season, and spent three months on loan at Blackpool in the Championship.

He admitted multiple breaches of the FA's code on gambling on March 10 which states a player "shall not bet, either directly or indirectly" on matches they are involved in, their team, or the competition they play in.

"Newcastle United's Dan Gosling has been fined £30,000, subject to any appeal, and warned as to his future conduct following an Independent Regulatory Commission hearing," an FA statement read.

"Gosling, who requested a personal hearing, admitted multiple breaches of FA Rule E8(b) for misconduct in relation to betting."
