Ba opens transfer talks

Demba Ba is preparing for life after Chelsea and has opened discussions with a number of interested parties as he seeks a move to another Premier League side or a switch to Italy's Serie A.
The former West Ham and Newcastle United striker joined Chelsea in January 2013 but has failed to secure regular first team football at Stamford Bridge, with Fernando Torres and Samuel Eto'o ahead of him in Jose Mourinho's plans.
Having not started a game since December, Ba has accepted that his career at Chelsea is at an end and has told his representatives to investigate a possible move to another Premier League club in the summer.
"My agent has spoken to the club about a departure and he has started speaking with other clubs about a contract for next season," Ba told French radio station RMC.
"I hope we can find the best option possible. I'd like to stay in England. I like other leagues, too. I'd like to try the Italian league.
"Nothing's been confirmed but there are a few teams in Italy who play very good football."
In the meantime, Ba is determined to end his Chelsea career on a high, with the side top of the Premier League and set to take on Paris Saint-Germain for a place in the Champions League semi-finals.
"That would be the best way to go out the door," Ba added. "If I leave with at least the title or the Champions League, that would be exceptional."
