Sagna looks for Premier League stay
Arsenal defender Bacary Sagna has turned down a move to Inter Milan because he wants to stay in the Premier League, the Italian club's president claims.
Erick Thohir said on Tuesday that it was up to Sagna - whose Arsenal contract expires at the end of the season - whether or not to accept their offer.
After landing at Milan Malpensa on Wednesday morning for his latest visit, Thohir confirmed that the right-back had turned him down.
"Sagna has decided to stay in the Premier League," he said. "But we still need a new full-back."
If Thohir is right, Sagna may still agree to sign a new deal at Arsenal but Manchester City, who have signed Samir Nasri and Gael Clichy in recent years, have also been strongly linked to the French defender.
Inter's focus could now turn back to Manchester United left-back Patrice Evra, although Thohir says he has "had no contact with him."
