David Moyes has made five changes to the Manchester United side that lost 3-0 to arch rivals City on Tuesday.

Alex Buttner replaces Patrice Evra, who is rested - a move that might irk United fans with Evra suspended for Tuesday's Champions League quarter-final first-leg against Bayern Munich.

Nemanja Vidic returns from suspension and replaces Rio Ferdinand, who doesn't make the match-day squad.

Marouane Fellaini the only one of four midfielders that started against City to make the cut as Tom Cleverley, Michael Carrick and Danny Welbeck are replaced by Ashley Young, Darren Fletcher and Shinji Kagawa.

Cleverley was replaced at half-time on Tuesday with an injury and hasn't recovered in time, while Carrick and Welbeck drop to the bench.

Juan Mata will start in his preferred No.10 role behind Wayne Rooney, with Kagawa - starting just his third Premier League game since the turn of the year - out wide.

Manchester United starting XI: De Gea; Rafael, Jones, Vidic, Buttner; Young, Fellaini, Fletcher, Kagawa; Mata, Rooney Substitutes Amos, Giggs, Hernandez, Carrick, Nani, Welbeck, Januzaj

Aston Villa starting XI: Guzan, Bacuna, Vlaar, Clark, Bertrand, Westwood, Delph, Albrighton, Weimann, Benteke, Agbonlahor Substitutes Steer, Sylla, Holt, Tonev, Bennett, Robinson, Lowton
