Will Manchester City win the Premier League?

Manuel Pellegrini wants Manchester City to try to blow Liverpool out of the title race at Anfield on Sunday.

The manager has promised his side will go out on the attack even though a draw would maintain their advantage in the race for the Premier League crown.

Liverpool's emotional drive

City trail Liverpool by four points but have two games in hand over the leaders and will claim the title if they avoid defeat at Anfield and win their remaining games.

Pellegrini said: "Maybe I am wrong but I always think in the same as a manager, if you play to draw, you will lose.

"So we are going to play to win. Of course, after the game, if we couldn't win the game and we draw it's a good result, but we are not going to play against Liverpool thinking we must draw. We don't know [how] to play in that way."

Liverpool have recorded nine successive wins and are the league's top scorers with 90 goals, a tally six greater than that notched up by City's potent strikeforce.

Pellegrini believes "the best way to win games is to score goals", but he is confident his team can hold their own against Luis Suarez after tightening up at the back and conceding only two goals in their last seven league games.

"Maybe at the beginning we conceded too many goals," he said. "In the second half of the season we have improved in defence and are at the moment a very balanced team."
